Picturesque Broads farm showcases its apple and holly crops - and new reservoir

How Hill Farm, near Ludham, welcomed around 120 visitors for a scenic farm walk organised by rural agency Brown&Co.

Once part of the historic How Hill Estate, the farm's 116ha of arable land is now farmed by contractors, but specialist crops and seasonal markets also play a key role in its diversification.

How Hill's orchards produce around 40 tonnes of apples annually, which are sold through shops and wholesalers, with some used for cider and juice. Varieties include Bramley, Cox, Norfolk Royal, Crimson Crisp and Egremont Russet. 

Mr Coller showed visitors some 20-year-old Bramley trees and some five-year-old Cox and Norfolk Royal trees, grown from a root stock on the farm. He said four 18-tonne trailer loads of horse muck has been applied........
