Firefighters spent much of Monday and Tuesday at the scene of a blaze in Thetford Forest at Barton Mills.

A large plume of smoke was spotted by fire crews as they returned to reinspect the four hectares of scorched land at about 5am on Tuesday.

Henry Griffin, deputy chief fire officer for the county, said firefighters created a fire break to prevent the 150 metre undergrowth blaze spreading further.
