"Yarmouth, wonderful Yarmouth"

So sang Ronnie Ronalde in 1956 as he espoused the virtues of the town as a resort including its "lovely promenade".

Move forward to 2025 and now people in the town, including me, are reeling from the news that it has been named as the one of the worst places to live in England.

According to data collected by The Sunday Times, Great Yarmouth placed 276th on the list of 281 locations - meaning it was ranked as the sixth worst place in England.

And like many in the Great Yarmouth, I am fighting back against that ranking by the national newspaper, which graded the town on crime rates, Ofsted reports, NHS waiting times, average house prices and the number of Green Flag parks in the area.
