The Norfolk catering and events company was incorporated in 1986 and is owned by Nick Mills, Chris Busby and Sian De Waal.

Brasteds Limited and its property company Brasteds Twenty20 Limited, which it used to borrow £2.8 million to purchase Caistor Hall in Caistor St Edmund for £3.2 million in 2021, are both now set to be wound up and put into liquidation.

Brasted's sold the 21-bedroom hotel and wedding venue to corporate training provider Quadmark Group for £1.365 million last month.

Managing director Mr Mills said the decision to sell the Georgian hall was due to “extremely difficult issues” facing the hospitality sector since the pandemic, compounded by planning restrictions at the site.

Brasted's previously hoped to obtain planning permission to build an additional 36 bedrooms at the property, along with a new spa and events space, but was unable to do so due to the site being located near the former Roman town, Venta Icenorum.
