As Pakistan’s largest exploration and production company, Oil and Gas Development Company Limited (OGDC) continues to strengthen its core mission of delivering reliable energy while advancing sustainability, inclusivity and community development.

Beyond exploration and production, the company is implementing a multifaceted strategy that balances production optimisation, indigenisation, social impact and environmental responsibility.

Production optimisation drive

OGDC has launched a comprehensive and focused production optimisation initiative aimed at reversing natural declines in mature fields and unlocking additional hydrocarbon output.

A dedicated cross-disciplinary working group reviews reservoir and production data to identify opportunities for performance enhancement, including artificial lift conversions, pressure maintenance systems and advanced stimulation techniques.

The initiative has already delivered measurable gains. In February 2026, OGDC enhanced output at the Kal-03 well by 1,400 per cent following targeted workover and rejuvenation efforts. These initiatives reflect OGDC’s commitment to operational excellence and sustained growth from existing assets.

Indigenisation and technological advancement

Aligned with national objectives and sectoral best practices, OGDC places strong emphasis on indigenisation by developing local technical expertise and integrating advanced technologies into field operations.

OGDC has accelerated its indigenisation drive to reduce import dependence, strengthen local industry and conserve foreign exchange. The company has engaged LUMS Energy to develop a comprehensive Indigenisation Roadmap, targeted for completion by June........
