A tale of two worlds

This is with reference to the story “A tale of two worlds” by Hooria Fatima (YW, December 21). I was deeply moved by the powerful contrast the story portrayed between two vastly different lives.

Through the beautiful depiction of Smokey’s (the cat) curiosity on Hot Dog Street, I found myself reflecting on the stark disparity between the pampered existence of a pet cat and the harsh realities faced by street cats. The description of the lives of street cats, though seemingly full of freedom, was also deeply tragic as they fight daily battles for food and shelter.
