I am writing to you because I am in a state of absolute despair, and it feels like my life is falling apart.

I am 16 years old and buckling under the emotional weight of the situation I find myself in. This is about a friendship that means the world to me. My friend has been my absolute support system and we promised to always stand by each other through everything.

However, my family is strictly against this friendship. They have issues with my friend’s family background or status, or perhaps it’s simply their own rigid views on who I should be close to. My parents are putting immense pressure on me to cut ties completely. My mother is emotionally blackmailing me, saying that this friendship will bring shame on our family and that she will never forgive me if I keep talking to my friend.

This is breaking my heart. I cannot abandon a loyal friend who has done........
