Trump Told Police Chief ‘Everyone’ Knew About Epstein Abuse

Donald Trump has repeatedly said he wasn’t aware of his friend Jeffrey Epstein’s sex crimes until he was charged in Florida in 2006. While Epstein was in a Manhattan jail cell in 2019, reporters asked the president if he’d ever had any suspicions that his friend was molesting young women. “No, I had no idea,” Trump answered. “I had no idea. I haven’t spoken to him in many, many years.”

In a newly discovered document from the Epstein files, however, a former Florida police chief recalls Trump calling him in July 2006 to say Epstein’s abuse of girls and young women was well known in their New York and Palm Beach social circles.

In an October 2019 interview, former Palm Beach police chief Michael Reiter told the FBI that Trump had called him in 2006, shortly after it was publicly reported that the department was investigating allegations that Epstein abused teenage girls.

“Thank goodness you’re stopping him, everyone has known he’s been doing this,” Trump told Reiter, according to the FBI record of the 2019 interview, which was included in the batch of Epstein files released on January 30.

Reiter said Trump also tipped him off about Epstein accomplice Ghislane Maxwell, saying “she is evil and to focus on her.” Trump said he was once around Epstein when teenagers were present and he “got the hell out of........
