Keir Starmer has backed his deputy Angela Rayner following her admission that she failed to pay the correct amount of tax on her second home purchase, and we're keen to hear your views on this matter.

This follows revelations that the Deputy PM sidestepped a £40,000 stamp duty bill on an £800,000 seaside flat in Hove by removing her name from the deeds of a family property in her Ashton-under-Lyne constituency, thereby avoiding the higher tax rate applicable to second homes.

In a recent interview, the housing secretary revealed that she had referred herself to the independent adviser on ministerial standards and had even considered stepping down from her role after discussing the matter with her family. Ms Rayner admitted that the legal advice she had relied upon was incorrect and assured that she would settle any outstanding stamp duty as demanded by HMRC.

Speaking to Sky News, the MP for Ashton-under-Lyne stated that she "alerted and referred" herself to the ethics adviser "as soon as"........
