Rachel Reeves has unveiled additional benefit cuts following the spending watchdog's assertion that her reforms would yield less savings than anticipated. This comes on the heels of last week's contentious decision to cut £5billion from sickness and disability benefits, with significant alterations to Personal Independence Payments (PIP).

Under the new provisions, UC incapacity benefits for new claimants will be frozen until 2030 instead of being adjusted in line with inflation. It was also announced last week that these benefits would be reduced by 50% for new claimants.
