The prohibition on the sale of new petrol and diesel vehicles has been revised, as Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer attempts to navigate the turmoil caused by Donald Trump's imposition of tariffs on a global scale last week. Trump's tariffs have sent markets worldwide into a tailspin, with the UK government stating its intention to negotiate a trade deal with the US while safeguarding British industries. Tariffs from the UK to the US will be at least 10%, but the automotive industry is looking at a minimum of a 25% increase - approximately one in six British cars are exported to the US.
