Robert E. Lee died on October 12, 1870. An American hero for the next 100 plus years, by the time the anti-American left took over control of Hollywood, the media and academia, it was too late for the left to assassinate him. They did the next best thing. They tore down every statue of him. These sort of actions are common for primitive despots. When Charles II assumed the throne of England, Oliver Cromwell was already dead. Charles II could not torture Cromwell, so he dug up his corpse and cut off the head. Cromwell’s body was hung and the head put on a spike outside Westminster Hall where it remained for decades. But until September 10, 2025, Charlie Kirk was living. The woke left did not have to settle for the next best thing.
When it can not actually kill those who do not agree with them because they are no longer among us, the left will symbolically kill them. Statues of Sir Winston Churchill are vandalized, statues of Theodore Roosevelt removed. Sometimes this achieves unintended comic effect.
