The Church appears to be approaching a critical crossroads as the Society of Saint Pius X (SSPX) moves forward with its plan to consecrate new bishops on July 1st without Vatican approval. This has given rise to concerns that Rome might impose severe penalties on the Society.
For over fifty years the Vatican has scorned and criticized the SSPX for its rejection of Vatican II and its commitment to exclusively offer the Traditional Latin Mass. Unfortunately, this has prevented their full approbation by Rome.
