Anger mounts as Cambridge South Station toilets will only be open to ticketholders

The facilities at the new Cambridge South Station will remain off-limits to non-passengers, despite earlier assurances they would be publicly accessible. Representatives from Cambridge City Council and South Cambridgeshire District Council expressed their disappointment over this reversal during a joint development management committee meeting on Wednesday (July 16).
A Network Rail spokesperson acknowledged the frustration but explained that further detailed discussions had revealed it would not be feasible to allow people without tickets access to the facilities. A planning officer clarified to the meeting that making the toilets publicly accessible had never been established as a formal condition of the Cambridge South Station project's approval.
