Mill Road Bridge legal challenge quashed as readers bemoan 'waste of money'
Some Cambridgeshire Live readers were annoyed to hear that the restrictions on Mill Road Bridge will stay in place after a second legal challenge was dismissed, as announced by Cambridgeshire County Council.
In October 2024, a new Traffic Regulation Order was implemented to limit access at the Mill Road bridge bus gate, following a public consultation in August. T
he restrictions established under the TRO ban all motor vehicles from crossing the bridge, with exceptions including local buses, taxis, emergency services, blue badge registered vehicles, vehicles in a disabled tax class, and vehicles on the council's approved vehicles list.
Those who fall into one of these exemption categories must still apply to the county council for a bus gate exemption. Pedestrians........
