Sad. That’s a word but it doesn’t seem to be enough.

Hope. There’s another word.

There was hope. Boy, was there hope.

Hope drove the searchers to look for Parker and look again and again.

Hope drove the volunteers who gave of their time and offered whatever else they could give.

Hope drove the police and the fire department and all the other professionals working around the clock to find this lost 11-year-old boy.

And hope was in every person who let the story of Parker take a little space in their heart these past two weeks.
