If knowledge is power, does a lack of knowledge create weakness?
When you are on vacation, when time doesn’t matter, you think about things in a different light.
For many years, one of the first things I did when visiting another community was to buy a local newspaper. You could learn quickly about the local issues, the political slant of the community and even what was happening in the world at large. I used to especially enjoy the local letters to the editor.
On my current vacation, I tried to do just that, and while I did manage to purchase a local paper, the contents of it were so insignificant that it did not provide any information other than pizza advertising, lost pets and obituaries.
