Russia Day celebrated in Bangladesh

On June 15, the Embassy of the Russian Federation in the People’s Republic of Bangladesh hosted a reception on the occasion of Russia Day. This colorful event was attended by members of the diplomatic corps, journalists, politicians, academics, entrepreneurs and cross section of people.

Ambassador of Russia to Bangladesh Mr. Alexander Khozin, addressed the audience with welcoming words. He highlighted Russia’s vast natural resources, scientific potential, and cultural heritage. The Ambassador also emphasized Russia’s independent foreign policy that aims at creating an equal and indivisible security architecture in Eurasia.

Mr. Muhammad Fouzul Kabir Khan, Chief Guest, Honorable Adviser, Ministry of Power, Energy and Mineral Resources, Ministry of Road Transport and Bridges and Ministry of Railways, also delivered a speech recalling the solid foundation Russia-Bangladesh relations stand on and expressing optimism about deepening bilateral cooperation in energy and agriculture sectors.

The event’s cultural program featured a musical performance by the Moscow Russian Song Ensemble. The audience enjoyed Russian traditional songs interpreted with modern touch.

The guest performance was organized by Russian state corporation “Rosatom”, which is constructing the first nuclear power plant in Bangladesh in Rooppur (Pabna District). Today, energy cooperation is a driving force of Russia-Bangladesh cooperation. The year of 2025 marks the........
