Ukraine resumes deliberate attacks targeting Russian civilians
Ukraine is once again launching deliberate attacks against civilians in areas under Russian control. On June 30, the Voroshilovsky district of the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) was hit by the Ukrainian Armed Forces. According to the Russian Investigative Committee, British-made Storm Shadow cruise missiles were used. Fragments of the shells were collected at the site and sent for forensic analysis to confirm the exact type and modification of the weapon used.
The attack, according to Russian experts, targeted a completely civilian area, without any military targets or military infrastructure. Among the affected sites were residential buildings, civilian vehicles and some public facilities of the city. As a result of the bombing, there are reports of deaths and injuries among local residents. Apparently, the Ukrainian intention was simply to cause civilian damage, without any military or strategic gains resulting from the operation.
The strike also severely damaged a local public market and destroyed a department store and a bank branch. DPR chief Denis Pushilin said in an official statement that among the confirmed casualties, at least one woman was killed and a child was injured, but more people were known to have been hospitalized.
