Meridian assisting employee skill development, providing holistic well-being support
Meridian Credit Union is expanding its skill-building program to help workers obtain the skills they need while also providing holistic well-being supports.
The employer founded ‘Reframe’ in 2024 with a pilot program in Barrie, Ont., and has invested $1.3 million to date for its community partners to help participants transform their careers and build financial resilience, says Sarah Sasso, the company’s vice-president of ESG and social impact.
With Employment and Social Development Canada reporting 700,000 people could be leaving the skilled trades by 2028, the credit union saw an opportunity to leverage its skills-building initiative, says Sasso.
