Iran has been experiencing significant internal strife and turmoil since the protests began with the infamous Mahsa Amini case in September 2022. Amini, a young woman of Kurdish minority, who was visiting the Iranian capital of Tehran with her brother when she was detained by Iran’s morality police, also known as Gasht-e-Ershad, for not following the compulsory dressing norms that required women to mandatorily cover their heads with a headscarf or hijab.
